look up. its on top of this forum... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1171263

and for the love of god and all that is holy... its spelled VTEC not vtech.
vtech is a brand of a phone or children's toy. vtec is honda, variable timing electronic control.

edit:sorry had to rant, and to the OP, click the link. the diagram for the appropriate ecu is in that thread.

Vtech:

VTEC

d16z1 is the original engine.

D16Z1 sohc twin carburetted no CAT
Cam Lobe: In= 36.782 (1.4481) Ex. 36.947 (1.4546)
Valve Clearances: In= 0.17-0.22 (0.007-0.009)
Ex= 0.22-0.27 (0.009-0.011)
Bore: 75.00 (2.95)
Stroke: 90.0 (3.54)
Comp Ratio: 9.3:1
Con Rod: S/end=
L/end= 48.0 (1.89)

Edit: Does it have a vtec head on it, or a vtec valve cover. Two different things.

^^^Yeah, yeah the whole Vtech thing is not funny anymore^^^ Maybe 5 years ago... but now it's just annoying.

Yes it has a vtec head. That's what makes a vx a vx. However the vtec your engine is equipped w/ is more for fuel-economy than performance (I believe they call it e-vtec or i-vtec or whatev).

Uh, I didn't know I was trying to be funny, he didn't get it the first time so I used a visual reference? I believe it's VTEC-E. I-VTEC comes on the K20s.

it is definatly a vtech head,it has the sylinoid on the back side of it.i am just trying to get as much info as possible,i know a little about honda but not much.i have done the mini me swap pon my 93 hatch, the guy my buddy bought this car from was a tard he put the wrong distributor on the head and just notched out the ears so that it would fit,lol he is that dumb, but abyways i do remember that i had to pull the oil restrictor out of the block before putting the head on,i hope this was done before.and thanks for the quick replies,i hope we get this thing hooked up.

oh and if the oil restrictor was not removed, will it just not hit vtec?or will it hit vtec with very little oil?

Wish I could help you there, like stated VTEC-E is not the same as the VTEC we all know and love, and I believe it hooks up different. Try google, it can be your best friends in situations such as this.

I've read my post several times and I don't see a hint of sarcasm in it. Think what you must though, if I wanted to be an *** I wouldn't have answered the question at all.

dude, that would have been funny before we had 493257923857 noobs and 3094857293857923475982374598 vtec jokes this week.

but yea vtec-e is a completely different setup i started a thread on it awhile back id put the link but the search isnt working. my hx has basically the same setup. its setup more for fuel economy but can be good for turbo. do a search and youll find some good stuff
