VTEC problems i think?
I recently put a D16z6 into my 94 civic VX, when i first put the motor in i didnt have a 4 wire o2 sensor so i had to use the VX engine harness with the 5 wire o2 and of course i was throwing a code, VTEC worked, i had no real problems besides the CEL. I got a 4 wire o2 and i put my Si wire harness on and did the 5 wire o2 fix. No CEL's or anything BUT, i'm hitting rev limiter at 6500rpm but VTEC is working, do i have to pin the VTEC spool solenoid and the pressure switch myself to make vtec work right so i can rev to 7500rpm or is there something else wrong? i'm using a p28 btw. thanks.

p28 ecu revs out at 6500 if you want higher rev limit you have to chip your ecu or replace but why would you want to rev to 7500 rpm its a d16z6 not b16/b18

Your talking about the 92-95 Civic CX ECU, which isnt a p28, but does rev to 6,500....
correct me if im wrong

you make no power over 7500 guarenteed. unless it's not a stock motor...

jus get a damn dx harness and use the 1 wire o2 sensor. i like them better and there cool casue they create there own power but jus wire the vtec straight to the ecu lol

I have my 4 wire o2 hooked up and all of that so that problem is solved, so basically you're saying just to pin the vtec solenoid and pressure switch. but the vx came with vtec from honda but maybe the pins are different?

Re: (WhiteVX_EG6)
Okay, did you bother to find an EX harness from a 92-95?
Im not THAT good with this stuff, but i am pretty sure if you just go and get a harness for the D16Z6 it will be perfect...
Dont go splicing and cutting, your guranteed for CEL's if you do it incorrectly....
My biggest suggestion is to get the harness for that motor so its easy plug and play
Good luck....again

I'm already pinned for vtec, i'm thinking it's something being retarded in the fuel or ignition system because i'm throwing no code for what it's doing, i'm not even throwing codes at all. thanks anyways guys.

BTW i'm using a AEM high flow fuel rail, that's the only thing i have on my motor right now that isn't stock, i'm still on stock regulator, injectors, etc... that wouldn't make it cut out at high rpm's would it?
