Default Vtec Hook up Help

I have a 94 civic with a d16y8 in it. right now i do not have the vtec hooked up but I heard of way to hook your vtec up to your shift light. I heard you can run your grey plug to your shift light postive and when your shift light comes on your vtec will engage. How do i do this? Also for the gren plug i see people that do not have them hooked up at all when they do this modification. Please help. Thanks alot

nm.. so when does your shift light come on?? I was thinking it was a shift light that tells you when to shift at redline, and that would be pointless..

I have seen it done before. the way I have seen it is you wire it to your positive wire for the light. you set the light at the certain point you want vtec and it kicks in. kinda like a cheap vafc if you ask me but without fuel maps. Its cheap, dont do it!
