I am having a lot of problems with getting my Vtec to engauge. I'm starting to think I may have a problem with my ECU (P61). I've tested the solenoid and it works, it clicks and the engine bogs down when I put 12V to it. My VSS is most likey screwed up in my wiring conversion. How do I wire the Vtec to the shift light on my tach?

 

You just need to tap into the VTEC solenoid wire (or splice into the A4 pin-out), take a light and mount it where ever you like, then ground the light and you're done.

 

I have the shift light on my Autometer tach. Is there a way I can just tap the positive on the shift light?

 

yeah its possible to do that too..basically, when power goes to the solenoid, your light gets power too, its just switched power.
