Default VTEC engages at 6000 instead of 5500?

I have usdm b16a2 swap and the previous owner told me it has a type R ecu, do you think thats whats causing the higher vtec engagement?

Should I put a b16a2 usdm ecu in it?

Or it could be that your tachometer is off.
