Re: Stock VTEC crossover of B16A2??? (one-syk)
Does this apply to the USDM B16A2 in a 2000 Si with stock P2T ecu as well?

in reality, its 5300...tachs are always off by a few hundred, esp when they are moving forward. I verified this on my USDM P30 ECU with my VAFC.

See what I mean about the misconceptions? BTW, Whats the diff.(if any) between the JDM P30 ecu and the USDM P2T?

by that logic then my rev limiter should be near 8900. its at 8300, where its supposed to be.

Edit: This may explain why you can't get a straight answer when it kicks in(between 200rpms). Some are going by the VAFC and some are going by the tach. I would trust something directly linked to the ECU, not a mechanical device like a tach.

I swear when I installed my VAFC, it said the stock VTEC crossover was 5800 on my JDM P30...but who knows. It's somewhere mid-high 5,000s....

Stock vtec would kick in @ 5700rpm. My tach is only off by 50rpm. I heard that depending on the Temp. of coolant & oil that it effects and can make it kick in @ different RPM's.

So it seems the general consensus says 5500 rpm. My tach seems to be like 200 rpms off as well. I think 5500 is correct. I doubt the crossover would be 5700, because the CTR's crossover is at 5700.

if my **** is real cold like it was after that damn storm. my vtec wont kick in right. but im using a gsr ecu with a b16a2 swap and it kicks in normally at like 4500rpm and it runs fine after it warms up. i've heard of other people havin problems with this combo but mine works fine.
