Default vented CF hoods

Hey is there a purpose for them beside show? I was thinking about getting one but im scared that th water from the rain will Ruin my full race manifold when i get one.

If you mean the ones with the vent above the header... The design comes from some race teams that use it in unison (sp) with an under spoiler which forces air up (from under the car) past the header/turbo and out the vent in the hood... Some rear engine cars have similar air channels to hold the front end down at high speeds...

Depending on where the vent is it can be functional... but for a normal civic it's not gunna do much but lower the under hood temps a little.

And as far as leaking goes I wouldn't know I ain't gots one y0!

P.S. WTF is a "full race manifold"?
