Default :URGENT: need clutch help....

ok here is the story...... sorry in advance

i was at a red light... playin puttin the car in and out of reverse several times because of boredem.... light turns green and the car stalls... so i'm like ok... i'm a ****** idiot and jus stalled the bitch... start it back up and it wont go into gear... but i still had pedal the clutch just wouldn't engage so i'm screwin around lookin at the fluid (which was black as hell) and i'm pumpin and pumpin and pumpin.... well i manage to get it in fifth gear (which syncronizes reverse) and managed to get it into reverse and back it into a gas station.... i get the car in the gas station where i want it so its out of the way and now it'll go into all the gears... so i drive it around the gas station and its just fine... so i drove home...and ideas to what this might be leading to so i can catch it now... i'm going to bleed the clutch tommarow with some new fluid and hopefully that will help but i've noticed i also have the well known squeek as i'm disengaging the clutch... (and dont tell me master and slave cly. cause i've been through all that ... if it was those i wouldn't have any pedal..) it was just a weird situation...

THANKS FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCE.... if i get any lol.....

The exact same problem happened to my H22, it's so weird! I Bleed the Clutch pedal and it seems fine now, See what happens after driving it for a while and keep an eye on the slave cylinder... good luck

5th does not syncronize reverse, reverse does not have a syncronizer.

you are doing the right thing, flush and bleed see where that gets you.

due to your post count i'll believe you... i was just always told that it does... thats why i always put it in 5th before i put it in reverse so it doesn't grind when i put it in reverse...

lol my post count has nothing to do with this. there is no syncronizer in reverse thats why you grind to begin with going into that gear

youll find if you go into 4th before reverse it shouldnt grind eithre

If your car won't let you put it in gear when it's running...turn it off and try it with it off, if it goes in easy when it's not running your clutch needs to be replaced. This is very common when the springs in the clutch get loose and are ready to fall out. It's only going to get worst and eventually your going to need to get it towed to fix it, so take it somewhere while you still can!

the reverse gear is on its own shaft.... what are you people talking about? the only reason reverse doesnt grind when you touch ANY other gears prior to reverse is because the syncros are slowing the internals in the tranmission down.
