need help, couldn't find a write up on this.
I have a 96 ls integra, and when i'm stopped (at a light), and i have my car in 1st gear and the clutch depressed, my car jumps. SOMETIMES. it doesn't do it all the time. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it could be. Is my clutch slipping while it's in gear and the pedal is depressed. I also had it happen to me yesterday when i was backing out of the driveway, but it was in reverse. It jumps like when you have the car in gear, and let off the clutch pedal thinking your in neutral. Thanks for any help.'
the clutch pedal does come back. The car drives fine, and it idles fine to. But if i'm sitting still with the clutch in, and have it in first(as if sitting at a light) the car will occasionally jump like it's trying to take off.
So it's not dragging uniformly all the time? I'm thinking something broken, maybe just a piece of friction material from the clutch disk. It occasionally wedges in the pressure plate & drags the clutch, but not always continuously...
ya, it's not a continual problem. you can sit there with it in gear, and it'll just jump like it wants to take off. Somtimes it jumps so much, that it'll shut the car off unless i give it some gas. kinda like when you put it in gear, and let off the clutch forgetting it was in gear. That jump it does.
no way, dont take the tranny off yet.
Replace the slave cylinder firt, its cheap, then change the clutch master cylinder, THEN take the trans down.

ok, i'll look into all that. I'm sure it is the clutch tho. I have to finish a project on a 95 civic, then i'll start working on that. Thanx
