b18c vs supercharged d15b
hey just want to know what would be better to put in my 93 dx hatch . i was going to get a b18c but my friend has a supercharged d15b (full swap with lsd tranny ) he wants to sell me for 2400 its got a few bolt ons that comes with it (NEW )exdy 8.5lbs.flywheel with clutch ,underdrive pulley,dc header, obx fuel rail ,aem intake, walbro 225 fule pump . all the bolt ons r new not even on it yet just the supercharger is on .and the motor he got from justjapsimports.com about 6weeks ago he was building it to put in his 92 cx but now he got a b18c5 so he dont need it .anyways i drive my car everday and the sohc is better motor i think as far as dependability + parts r alot cheaper but what kinda power do u think it will put out ?he said it should be around 175whp and the gsr is only 159whp i think so what do u think ?

i would go with the gsr motor... more upgradeable, and it has greater potential.. plus it is alot of fun to drive..

ya i would prob go wit the gsr too...it takes at least 30% of ur engine hp to run a supercharger so even with those bolt ons it wouldnt be as much hp...maybe if there was a lot of internals done to it, then yea it would be great...my friend got a supercharger for his gsr that had some bolts on here and there and he ran my friend wit a rex wit a stock b16a2 and lost by a car..

I like my Supercharged D16 so far. Its in my 94 coupe. Its feels faster than my friends b16 swapped hatch and off the line faster than a friends GSR swapped hatch but up in the 6-7500 the GSR feels faster... Id say they are about evenly matched, but for around town the charger is nice for the torque. Its hits full boost at about 3k-4k rpms.

it should have relatively instant boost
that is the concept of a super charger

maybe its a centrifugal supercharger? (not likely)
