Re: typical parts and labor charge... (honda95civic)
How many miles on the motor? Have you done a compression test? I got a headgasket for about 45 bucks. Rings from honda will run u around 110 dollars but i got hastings rings for 35 bucks But if ur putting new rings in, u might was well take the whole motor out and take the block and head to a machine shop and get them to do their magic. Because depending on the shape of the cylinders, u might have to get it bored. And if ur just puttin in new rings the block needs to be honed. Oh and ur gonna want to put in new bearings. And while the head is off, it needs to be checked, have a valve job and get new valve seals. So...alot of money. But do a compression test first and get back to us.
