Turbo single cam hatch OR GSR hatch...
I have my choice of doing one of the two and I was wondering what were people's thoughts on the two.
They both have their ups and downs: GSR HB can have a/c and ps but boosted HB has cooler noises, etc lol.
Opinions?

I would go gsr-r hatch, then save up some money and boost it.
1) the new motor, will be a new motor and last longer than the one you have. I'm assuming you have a 90-110k mile car.
2/ Turbo will be nice, but parts will wear out sooner.

turbo the single cam for now and beat any swapped civic out there. You can retain ac/ps with a turbo. The swap is better in the long run, but definitely is costly to boost and swap in a b.

With a turbo single cam you wont nessasarily beat any swaped civic.
Niether with a swapped civic.
It will proablably be cheaper to turbo the SC.

Screw the sounds, the turbo at stock levels though (8-9psi) may prove to be more worthwhile for you depending on the tranny. I am not sure if you can get an LSD tranny with a Dseries engine, never really looked into it, so that may be a reason to consider a Bseries first to start. I know there are some older trannies like the civic wagon that supported an early version of AWD, but as far as just running two wheels, not sure. Good power going to one wheel is a bit counter productive to me, but that is just me. You might find that for the difference in cash you can build the D for abuse which in the end may be more benifical for you, then all you have to do is worry about traction I suppose. Have fun...

although I would ultimately do a crvtec if you are planning on a turbo b...

yea if you have money for a turbo b, go for it. But a tuned fully built d-series can get over 300whp. they do have a lsd for the d-series also, OBX, QUAIFE. you should look into it. with the money for a swap, you can build a 11-low 12 sec single cam.

yes low 12's/ high 11's are possible with stock internal boosted D's. lots of guys at turbod16.com running 12's all day. The most important thing missed at the track is traction. a 350 whp B wont run an 11 without out traction. Slicks and traction bars make it possible.
My turbo d doesnt get traction on street tires till mid 3rd from a dig. i go 3 1/2 gears and go about 50 feet with slicks though i go places

couldn't agree more
it's the 11-low that's tough to swallow but is possible
how much would a low 11 sec build cost? d-series?

D16.
1. when you blow it up, you won't have shell out $$$$ for a B18C block.
2. when you get bored, piston/rods combos can be easily found which should be good for 300 WHP on pump with that shat *** head.
3. get a cam/valvetrain and/or IM and continue climbing.
4. Um, torque? GSR's are nice, but they make torque like my Gixxer.
5. It will be A LOT cheaper than the B-series route.
I sounds biased, but I've been down both roads.
