trans noise...
1994 Civic EX D16/5speed...
So I've gotta a noise coming from my trans. It's mild and faint when in neutral, but goes away completely when I push the clutch in.
When in frst, second, third, or fourth, it's usually there, sorta like a mild/medium rumbling or scraping sound. In fifth, on the freeway, I can't hear it at all.
Sometimes when going through the gears, I don't hear it at all until 3,000 RPMS and up, but usually it's there and noticeable as soon as I let off on the clutch.
The gearbox is silky smooth in operation at all times, so I'm kinda stumped.
I realize that I'm probably not going to know for sure what it is until I pull the gearbox, but I was hpoping to hear some experience, strength, and hope from others as a way to guide me...

Re: trans noise... (calipornya)
Input shaft bearing.
BauleyCivic did a writeup on removing the old one and installing a new one.
Here's the thread for you:

I'm a nice guy.
EDIT: I've replaced this before. Make sure you order the bearing from Honda. I ordered 3 different bearings from Advance Auto Parts and they still couldn't get it right.
