trans making noise
My friends vx just recenlty started to make a tapping noise. The trans shifts fine in all gears. The sound goes away when you press on the clutch, but when you let go the noise comes back. Could the problem be the throwout bearing?

Why does everyone always point at the throwout bearing.
It's not the throwout. the only time that thing is spinning is when the clutch pedal is DOWN, so it would have the opposite symptoms you're getting.
Do a search on the input shaft bearing, or ISB. It's also in the FAQ at the top of the forums.

You, however, are something else, as it's only happening under load. Might want to start your own topic.
