Transmission noise?

Transmission noise?
Got a noise coming from up in the front of the car that i believe is from the transmission. Happens in lower gears 1st 2nd and little bit in 3rd. With the clutch in its more of a whirring sound, only in gear and moving. Low speed.
With the clutch out and easy on the throttle its more of a rattle clicking type sound. Makes no difference turning or straight. No noise in 4th and 5th. Doesnt make it all the time, usually just easing into the throttle in say a parking lot, taking off down the road its either not there or much quieter.
Clutch holds fine. Prob original with around 170k. Trans fluid is very clean. I dont believe is chasis related i inspected all that. Nor is it an exhaust sound. Shifts gears nicely.
Any ideas? Or links to info on how to diagnose.
Does not act like a throwout bearing although ive only ever heard one (ford probe) go bad. And that was quiet with the clutch in.

Re: Transmission noise?
Im reading a lot of threads on here about transmission noise and im seeing a lot mention of the input shaft bearing. What does that sound like?
Also someone had posted they got a boise similar to a playing card in the spoke of a bike tire. That does sound kind of like the noise im getting. Not sure if that helps.
Im starting to think im better off finding a good used transmission and just replacing it. If i can find one reasonably priced. Just dont wanna jump the gun and spend money needlessly.

Lol it's most likely your clutch. You just need to buy a clutch kit. stock is about 100 bucks online. Work is around 250-350 depending on who does it.

Re: Transmission noise?
If all it needs is a clutch im stokked. Id do it myself, or have a friend help me out. I've never done one in a car. Clutch seems to grab nicely tho. Think if i jacked up the front end and put it in gear id be able to both hear it and hear where its coming from? Or would there have to be drag on the wheels to replicate it?
Its hard to diagnose something i dont know sh*t about. Had my integra from 30k-210k and never had an issue with clutch or tranny. I been all thru that car but this particular part im a bit lost. So THANK YOU for the advise.
