Default Tranny?

I have a d16y7 on my hatch. Stock motor. I know that engine is not worth spending money on. I'm just wondering what tranny will fit on this engine that has shorter gear ratio.

if you want to do a rebuild you can just change ur final drive and throw some synchros in there for the hell of it...then your car will be running at like 4k rpms at 50mph tho...not exactly economical.

Which FD would cause his D-series to run @ 4,000RPM @ 50MPH in 5th gear? My Type-R tranny is lower than that @ 50MPH.

the sohc motor is great for boost.
once blown, it'll only cost 500-700 for a rebuild

one of my friends has gone though 6 sohc's in the past 3 years. Half of it he was running all motor and the other half was @ 13 psi.

tony, this is mannys friend chris
