TPS ISSUE PLEASE HELPPP
Hi guys I have a Ek96 sedan with B16B
i calibrated my tps first and i got 0.45CT/4.52WOT.
a week after i tried to calibrate it back to 0.48v at CT and 4.50v at WOT. Messed with the throttle stop screw to get the correct volt reading and start the car rpm surge like crazy as i opened up the throttle plate too much so I reduced it back to normal then i tried to set it back to the previous calibration but I just couldn’t.
Now i put it as 0.48v CT and 4.68v at WOT and car is very responsive but once i pedal down at WOT when vtec engages around 5k rpm it pulls awhile and then shift gear like it cuts off my vtec as soon as i hit vtec …
so guys please enlighten me on how to solve this problem ..

Adjusting the throttle stop is the wrong way to adjust the TPS. You have to actually move the TPS sensor on the throttle body itself. You must be checking the TPS output voltage with the key on and engine off... and you need that voltage to be between .490 and .500v. Once set there, open the throttle blade completely and see if your maximum voltage is between 4.20v and 4.50v. If it is more, you might get a CEL during WOT operation. Once you know for sure that the TPS is set correctly at closed throttle, the throttle stop screw cannot be moved. If you do, you MUST reset the TPS sensor. If your idle is too high or too low, try to move the throttle stop to get the idle very close to where you want it first, and then adjust the TPS. This action may move the idle speed... so you may have to repeat this process.
If the TPS output voltage is too high at WOT, you will get a CEL and then VTEC will not work.

i adjust the tps sensor by moving it .
I’ve adjusted the WOT at 4.50v first tie it down then i put it to CT voltage reading is almost 0.33v and i read somewhere in HT (how to calibrate tps) it says if u are getting a value lesser than 0.48v at CT then move the throttle screw in to increase the voltage but when i do that my idle would be so high and it start surging even if i get 0.48v CT and 4.50v WOT .
Then , i screw the TS out to get the throttle plate to close slightly to my idle around 800 . After that , i adjusted the tps i put it at 0.48vCT and 4.69v at WOT .
Issue is I couldn’t get a 4.50 WOT after messing with the TS right now if i tried to set WOT first then my CT will be very low volt . Before this it was 0.45-0.46v at CT and 4.52v at WOT but i tried to make it perfect as many say setting it nicely the throttle response will be alot better .
I want to solve the how to get a proper WOT now without making my CT Volt drop like crazy if i set WOT perfectly and you said reset TPS how do i do that?

OK, first... you never set the TPS by WOT voltage. It is ALWAYS set at closed throttle. I am not sure what HT thread you got the information above from... but it is WRONG and is likely leading to all of this trouble that you are encountering. Do you have a Factory Service Manual (FSM) ? If so, read the procedure for setting the TPS. Do you have a factory throttle body or an aftermarket one ? Are you using an OE TPS ?

Problem is if I set on either one CT 0.48v then when i open it to WOT it becomes 4.69v
if i put WOT first at 4.50v then CT will be 0.33v .
anyway i just left it at 0.48v CT and 4.69v at WOT car is running great . Do i still try to fix it to 4.5v at WOT or just let it be since its running fine .
