EM1 K20 Bucking issues no vtec?
I have an EM1 with a k20z1. I have been having a bucking issue at light throttle. To clarify bucking, it feels as if the throttle is being tapped and then let go over and over. Of course the throttle isn't being tapped I am at light throttle. Also I the car is not engaging vtec. When I reset the ECU (K pro) it will hit vtec one or two times and then no more vtec. I am no throwing any faults as I have no check engine lights. I replaced the TPS sensor with a blox one just last night hoping to correct the problem but no dice. Would the IAC cause a problem like this? Any help or similar experiences with a problem like this one would be greatly appreciated.

I'm bringing this back because I am still having the problem. I bought a brand new blox TPS and calibrated it correctly, still having the problem. I doubt there is a bad cell, I am using a base tune from the kpro for the z1. I am confused. I have no check engine lights until a couple of minutes of driving then a check engine turns on.

Ok No check engine lights, I have vtec. Still occasional rough bucking. I have no idea what causes this... As you can see I've been trying to figure this out for quite some time....

Damn, I have an EM1 but not a Kswap, its a jdm B16 and i have the same exact issue. Slight bucking when say, coming to a stop sign or light? And Vtec engaging when it wants too (usually not at all). I checked the oil pressure to the vtec solenoid and its all there, no big dents in the oil pan, grounds are good. Those were just the things i checked for Vtec. As for the bucking i cannot figure that ish out.... Anyone else?

I fixed it but at this point I'm not sure what it was. I got a better tune, adjusted the throttle cable. Also the throttle body has an adjuster screw on it for idle and I adjusted that as well. My bucking problem wasn't from slowing down, it was starting up after slowing down to a stop or near stop. I hope some of this information helps you, but I suspect that are issues were probably very different from the nature of this description you gave as well as the difference in motors.
