Top Speed?
I recently got a 97 Civic EX w/ an Auto (i wish it was manual).
Either way I have put on E3 Diamondfire plugs, and NGK Performance wires, ive already changed the oil, and fixed the other **** that was wrong with it (minor non engine problems). I had it on chrome on friday night and I was taking my friends home after we went to the drag track to watch races. On the way back I decided to floor it down chrome to see what I would top out at and I couldn't even hit 100. I think it hit it for like a second and then the tranny shifted into 4th (final) and i dropped to like 95 and I couldnt get it to go any faster. Is this normal for an auto like this or is there something wrong with it that is making it so slow lol?

I think he means Krome Avenue....SW 177th in Miami. It runs from 27 all the way down to Florida City where it merges with US 1. I have a lot of fond car memories associated with that general area.

yep, its a nice long street, but where okechobee connects to chrome there is that 1/8th mile drag track where we go watch races (cuz our **** isnt fast enough to race anyway, and i have a auto lol).

no, it was comming back home @ like 1AM. There was nobody on the street, either way that doesnt answer my question. Is there something wrong with my car or is just a piece of ****. My friend used to be able to hit 110 in his 90 accord (auto) so I'm not sure whats up here.

My bone stock '94 civic sedan automatic D15B7 before i swapped it out for a D15B vtec and a 5 speed would do 120 and cut out, had there not been a cut out it would have gone a little further, probably not much though. That said its really not a good idea to go wide open on public roads even at night, yeah i've done it too, but your pretty much screwed if you get caught, and i don't know about where you are but here we have some wildlife that can make things really unpleasant at 100MPH, think deer and moose. its like hitting a brick wall, only after you hit it the wall its slams through the windshield.

what does that mean? Is it something that I can fix (sorry, I dont know that much about cars yet; at least the smaller stuff, I'm learning fast though).
Its a straight road, and I'm a good driver, the roads were empty and we wanted to see how fast it was. Were not going around speeding in turns or **** like that, it was just a open road test. I dont usually drive fast, but like I was saying I just wanted to see how fast it was on an open road.
