Default Tips & Tricks On Taking Out The Crankshaft.

Ok, i replaced rod bearings on my 93 Ford Probe Gt V6 Because of a Rod Bearing and when i torqued them i think i either over tightened them or under tightened them and 2 weeks later the engine locked up and id hate for this **** to happen to my Honda this is why im asking.

I need to know the correct procedure to undoing the main bolt that hold the crank in, can i just tighten in what ever order or inner to outer like a head gasket? and the rod bearings should i tighten the **** outa them and that it or should i torque them.

What the correct torque specs for the rods and the main bolts that hold the crank in thanks alot ! any tips or tricks that will help will be greatly appreciated.

Get a helms manual. Search and you can find one for free. Torque everything, I mean EVERYthing to spec. The Helms manual has a complete writeup.

It has been a minute but I know you loosen bolts starting with the middle then stagger accross them work your way evenly out on each side. To replace main bolts lube bolt threads and torque them all to 21.5 ft.puonds then again 21.5 to make 43 lbs. total . I would double check my info if i were you . Also how do you now your clearences . Talk to Robert at GOLDEN EAGLE MFG.COM he builds motors.
