throttle body sticking question.. already seachered
not too long ago i picked up a dx hatch with some goodies under the hood but soon after i noticed that the throttle cable was bad, well I thought it was bad because when I'd let off the gas, the throttle would stick, so I replaced it wiht a new GSR cable, but after I installed it, the throttle still stuck, so I played around with the spring and put wd-40 on it, still no help, every time I change gears the idle jumps way up, so I did some searching on HT and saw that I should just take off the TB and loosen up the 2 set screws that hold the butterfly plate to the bar. I did this and now when I rev the car up the idle is worse, I've used TB cleaner and cleaned it up but still no luck....
if any one has any ideas or tips let me know thanks

from what I've been reading, I need to loosen up the "pulley set screw" but I don't know where that is and how I go about doing that... is this the right info?

A buddy with an ek has the same problem when we swapped on another mani. It's annoying and needs to go. BUMP
By the way, this happened when we swapped over an ex int. manifold and put on another TB. I'm thinking either two things, the return spring (since we had to take it off and install for the TB) or the cable. Could the position of the cable make it stick?

Make sure the throttle cable isn't routed underneath an intake pipe or something that might cause it to get hot, as this can cause the effects described.

Re: throttle body sticking question.. already seachered (EG6-SiR)
My cable is just really loose. I have the Edelbrock manifold and Holley TB on there and there is like about 2in of slack in the line. Thing that sucks is the line is to the limit of it's length. Which cable can I use that is longer than the stock 00 Si one?

I had the same problem after my engine swap. There was a bit too much play in the throttle cable, so when the butterfly slams shut after wide open throttle it would get stuck. I tried adjusting the tension in the throttle cable, but its pretty touchy. If you tighten too much, the car idles higher, as one of the other posts mentioned.

Actually, it could be a coolant line issue because that coolant line is leaking. However, I really think it is the craftsmanship of the TB is key here. This is the second Holley TB I got, becasue the first one actually had the butterfly contacting the inside of the TB.
