so i drive a 92 si hatchback.. and i've never heard of a hatch being referred to as a ej or ej1. till this guy txts me on myspace from a friends phone and calls me a mother effer and all that jazz.. so figured id post this to clear it up for him. 92 hatchbacks. are they eg or ej. i know it goes eg1-something but i and so many others have always been told the hatchbacks 92-95 are eg hatchbacks.. am i mistaken? if so give me a link to this information cause aparently this guy says im a dumb *** and dont know **** about my car. thanks for reading and here is a pic of my car.

omg dude seriously. thats what i told this dude but he says the world is wrong and that the hatchbacks are ej's and claims he read it here on honda-tech. i texted every friend i know with a hatch and ppl with out and they say the same as me. yet this guy still begs to differ and totally ****ed my day over and pretty much ruined a friendship i had with the owner of the phone because she let the guy blow up on me. ill get a few more people to agree with myself the world and you as well jdm racer and then im going to text the link to this thread to them and delete their number for stressing me way the hell out by telling me im wrong and claiming to have proven me wrong. irritated the hell out of me and killed my mood

he doesn't need to see the whole vin number. just take a picture of the first few letters of the vin containing "EG6", and pic-msg it to his/her phone.

Here are the USDM fifth gen chassis codes in random order:

CX, DX hatch, VX: EH2
Si: EH3
DX, LX sedan: EG8
EX sedan: EH9
DX coupe: EJ2
EX coupe: EJ1
del Sol S: EG1
del Sol Si: EH6
del Sol VTEC: EG2


The chassis code is the 4th, 5th, and 6th letters of your VIN. For example, your Si is 2HGEH3, a GSR/ITR is JH4DC2, etc.

92-95 hatches from america are not EG'S! or EJ's
they are EH's..since he have a si model its an eh3..eh2 are your dx/vx/cx
ej are coupes.

the only eg's in america are imported or they are 92-95 sedans and del sol's.

obviously eg is from japan, bodywise model is the same. 92-95 hatchback all look exactly the same stock except eg6's are rhd and imported. all others are eh or e something else but not j for sure.. correct me if im wrong
