there should be a black and blue wire on the dizzy that are fat. It's the blue one, on the dizzy. and as for the cluster, I have no idea. Try an after market tach to see if it gets a reading??? I had the problem where my tach would sometimes work and it would sometimes not work. My problem was that my dash harness was burnt out because the stupid *** dealer used the wrong fuse and i shorted something and blah blah. Long story short, the smoke inside of my car scared the fukc out of me.

Black/yellow wire= power to coil, blue fat wire=tach signal wire from coil. Coil is grounded to dizzy is grounded to engine... I think thats how the ground is...

I don't know if hard wiring the factory tach is a good idea... Just buy and inexspensive<sp? tach from advance or something. More than likely you have a problem with the gauge itself anyways.
