Swaps: how to determine if there legit...
Well on the search for an engine to swap into my car I have come upon alot of inexpensive engines.
My question is how to tell the difference between a legit and worthless motor?
There are so many engines on Craigslist for example that sound to good to be true...
What are some safety steps i can take so i dont spend my hard earned money on a motor that will end up not working?
Im trying to be as patient as possible for the perfect engine to show up but my car is currently in the driveway and its frustrating! lol
What do most people im my situation do? Where can i plausibly find a motor at a fair price that is not a piece of junk?
My budget is about 2000...

Well OP should have gave more info. I said Vin numbers. If the person is wearing a brimmed hat and a trench coat, and the vin's are shaved off, better not buy that block.

get the vin and run it by the police department before you buy it
if it comes up stolen tell the police where it is
