Default Swapped a b18b1 LS into my 99 civic coupe and having problems. HELP ASAP!!

i just finished swapping in my 96 LS motor. i have to run the single cam harness on the motor because the driver side plugs for the dual cam motor didnt plug in. im also running a single cam ecu. now what do i need to make my car run right? do i need to replace the whole underdash wiring harness so a dual cam harness will plug in? if i have to redo my whole underdash harness what does the new harness have to come out of? any help would be great.

well, the problem is that you have an OBDIIb car with an OBDIIa motor....so you'll likely need either a OBDIIa LS ecu (I guess that also starts in 99+). OR, you will need to find a wiring harness conversion.

I just did the same swap in my car... i used my stock civic harness (obd2b) and i bought a obd2b>obd2a conversion harness from Blown90hatch. Then i used the ECU that came with the engine (obd2a)

If you go that route like i did.. you'll have to change your crank sensor from a 3 wire plug to a 2 wire plug on your civic harness, and extend your o2 sensor wires, and change your IACV plug from 3 wire, to a 2 wire plug. You might have to rewire the dist plug, but that might only be on the 99-00 DX Harness.. (mine)

Anyways, if you have any questions hit me up in pm.

It's alot cheaper to do it the way i did.. As long as you know how to use a soldering gun.. it's all cake, and it's just at reliable as a oem harness. If done right. (ie. heat wrapped and etc.)
