swap plan, approve it for me.
heres the deal, i have a plan to put a 94-97 b18c1 (gsr) in a 93- civic, hatch. i just kinda really need you pros and joes to approve this swap, i did a lil research and it should bold right back up. but im still uneasy about the OBD thing. is the 94-97 gsr the right gsr to throw into a 93- hatch, civic. as long as i get the full swap and the shift linkage, i should be set right? as long as the car im putting it in had vtec it should plug and have no problems right. i read alot about wiring harness' and how they need to be swaped switched and jumped. its all confusing to me. could someone explain it to me, in detail, what car would be the car to put in the 94-97 gsr. and what cars i cant put it in, or what other gsr id have to get. im still learning, but im learning fast. thanks

the 94 and 95 gsr is obd1 and should fit right up.
as long as you get the wiring harness with your engine swap you can just cut the plugs off the gsr harness and solder them into your current harness

Please read the FAQ's before posting next time:

*Link above is my full write-up regarding OBD2 (1996) Integra motors into OBD1 civic platforms*
There is NO cutting, NO splicing, NO custom wiring, 1994-2001 ENGINE harnesses out of integra's are IDENTICAL to all 1992-1995 civic motor bay harnesses.
As mentioned, your civic already had Vtec, so yes, EVERYTHING is just plug and play, Just be sure to purchase an OBD1 P72 ECU from a 94-95 GSR, as one from a 96+ one will not plug into the factory civic harness, while one from a 94-95 will.

From what I've heard, to pass state inspections *cough* legally *cough* you need to have an engine that is the same year if not newer than your car. so for instance if you wanted a 96 hatch you would need to get a gsr that is a 96 and up, the best thing to do is to keep the OBD the same. so just get your lil 93 hatchy and get a 94-95 gsr, it'll run hard and have no problems wiring back up =D

ok one thing no one mentioned here is the years 94-97 can be both.
94-95 are obd1 while 96-97 are obd2-a so which is it really you want to buy?
And for the link above I would not use it as a guidence as you motor is going to be a b18c not a b18b and you motor has vtec and it has the wiring for the intake manifold
so its hard to even compare the two not to mention the guy has several cels and lights on at the end of that article(I know he has the o2 problem but still cant trust that article)
I would use the article c-speedracing has in its how-to's plus thats exactly what you want a direct b18c1(gsr) swap into a vtec equiped eg(si)!

no im pretty sure your going to need new axles. and you are going to need motor mounts. Just the motor/tranny/linkage is not enough.

Re: swap plan, approve it for me.
lol ok that helps thanks. so a 93 hatchy with a 94 95 gsr thrown in will be the easiest swap for me, its all plug n play right. i dont need new axles or anything, jus tthe shift linkage from the integra right, nothing else? what about a 94 ek hatch? same deal? or is it different?

Since you are talking about EK's, and EG's, and a 'swap plan' it is QUITE apparent now you do not even own a civic right now anways, so read the thread I've directed you to twice now, and stop bumping this thread.
