Surging?
i have a d16y8 from a 96-98 civic in my car. I had to swap it cuz i blew the stock engine, and funds were low at the time. since then, it idles quite high and it also surges, not always right away but after a few minutes of driving. i have a sh*tty home made intake cuz some ******* stole my AEM CAI, i just replaced the whole IAC, yet it still surges and throws a light. I dont remember exactly, but the code for the light was p5051 or p0501, somewhere along the lines of that. Now, can anyone help me fix this problem? its been happeneing for months and its really irritating.
TIA

Well the only one I saw in the thing htat matches your "suspected codes" is P0501, the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) - it's a big sensor sticking up out of your tranny... replace that, see what happens from there...
Haven't heard of a VSS making an eradic idle, but that's what's throwing your ECU light...so I'd change that first

Re: (Hcivic02)
My problem is the same as the creator's except without cel. I have had people tell me everything from IAC valve to a crack in my intake manifold. And so for nothing. Has anybody who has ever done this swap had this problem?
