Supercharging a B16A2 - what and why?
Hi guys,
I am form England where the Honda scene is just starting to take off, and have had a '99 Civic VTi (SiR) for you i think, for about 12 months now. My Dad owns an Integra Type-R, and I want to make mine faster. I have sorted the interior, in dash screen/t.v. Playstation 2, Integra Recaros,(black) custom retrim to match the fronts with door cards and back seats in black alcantara with red stitching. I am running 17's on 3'' lower with R1 coilover springs from the states, but I WANT A SUPERCHARGER. I have read good reviews, but with mixed power gains. What would people recomend, and what sort of power increase should i expect, any times etc. I will post pics soon, but please people help me to finish my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Matt

Re: Supercharging a B16A2 - what and why? (DragIIcivic)
DragIIcivic what ever happened to your SOHC? Did it blow up, or are you just getting a swap to get a swap?
Oh, and to the original question, You can make more power in the long run and do more with a turbo setup. But on the other hand it is also easier to get carried away with the boost on a turbo setup.
Axis Sport Tuning put a supercharger on an Si back in January this I believe. Internally they installed a block guard, and they had all the usual bolt-ons, exhaust, intake, header, and cam gears. They also installed an upgraded fuel pump and A'PEXi AFC. That car ran 14.6 @ 98.2 in the 1/4. I'm assuming this was with the stock 6 psi pulley?? I think it is 6 psi right?

I didn't exactly blow it....I killed the headgasket, and rings (too much boost at the track) I felt it was time to upgrade rather than pour more $$ into the sohc.
BTW 14.6 for a FI B16 sucks....thats why I vote for turbo
