Re: Trying to gain power
d15b7= no chance against most of the acura/honda cars within this forum no matter what you do to it(generally speaking) dont even bother buying any other performance mod and save yourself some cash for a b,h,k swap and nothing else!
look at sohc and dohc 1/4 times from the old civics faqs section and see what the potential of a d15 is(sorry to say but garbage)!
good fuel economy and insurance rates though!

Re: Trying to gain power
If you insist on keeping the SOHC:
Mini me swap
EX/Si tranny swap (won't make power, but will still help)
cam
switch to 4-2-1 style exhaust manifold/header (shifts power band a bit)
The man wanted ideas on how to increase power. I would suggest a B or H/"G23" swap depending if he wants to keep AC or not

Re: Trying to gain power
like thumper said get some good headers. also get a high flow cat. you can make yourself some decent size grounds for your car, change out the pulleys for larger ones that will increase power a tiny bit. get some gsr injectors. sounds like a cheap way to get power but thats what you will have to do to get some power to that motor.

Re: Trying to gain power
look at it this way, you can either spend 3k+ rebuilding the motor and tranny, like my friend did and beg to god that it'll be able to at least keep up with a B like i had, and get fusterated when all your money time and effort are blow out the sky when your passed so easly by some one with a B,h,k and a big goofy smile on thier face or you can go spend around 2500 on a b swap and get it over with, since you will eventully either do that or quit hondas.
And this is from experience as i said me and my friend both had EJ1's mine was blue his was red, mine had a b16 and nothing else wail i spent a year in iraq he spent that year downing excess of 3 grand to try and beat my car, yeah he could take out cavaliers and non boosted cobalts like nothing (yeah i know wohoo right) but apon my return home first thing he wanted was a race we went out he dropped a gear and took off i gave him a head start finaly dropped the gear and past him with out breaking a sweat. soon after he got a b

For the same price as a decent swap, you can turbo your stock D. With a good setup and tune, you can safely make 220-240whp. There isn't a swap out there that will give you such a large jump in power for the price
