Stuck Distributor Cap..
So as odd as it sounds..
my distrubtor cap is stuck! It moves slightly but feels like something is pulling it back, and holding it on.
New member and hope someone can help me with this, I have bought a new cap and rotor so if I have to break it off I will. Just scared that what ever is holding it on is important, don't want to replace the whole distrubtor just yet.
Car is a 1998 Acrua Integra El with a b16a2 Obd1 Swap.
Thanks a bunch! Really puzzled by this the cap should just come off without force. ( I have removed the three bolts holding it on).

Re: Stuck Distributor Cap..
Quite possible that the contact spring on the coil has snagged itself to the the cap. I've seen it happen once or twice. Chances are someone has to have been in that distributor by now too, so who knows what a previous owner may have done to you. If you can pull the cap back enough to see and make sure none of the igniter wires have gotten caught somehow, give it a small pull. If it feels springy, you'll have to go full commit and give it a tug to pull it off. Make sure you're pulling it back nice and straight.
