Default Control arm fitment years.

Hi I have a 1997 DX. It's currently dissembled in a buddy's garage. He has some ex control arms lying around. But he's not sure what year they're from. Based on the car he used to have it's probably from '91 to '95. Before I order a bushing kit for it, can anyone confirm that there is no difference between these years? They looked the same when I originally compare them, but I heard a murmuring that the shock mount bolt hole might be wider(deeper) on some and I'm not physically with the car right now to check that measurement.

6th gen and 5th gen are not the same.

I would try a google search like site:honda-tech.com 92-95 LCA vs 96-00 LCA

I know this topic has been covered many times on this site and google will find it for you better than the site search.

'92-95 Civic control arms ARE NOT THE SAME as '96-00 Civics. They aren't that expensive, buy a set. If you can't afford it, one will be appointed to you. LOL

Is it easy to tell the difference? The arms I have looked the same except for the sway bar holes.

I think you already mentioned the challenge, one has wider bushings. I just don't recall off hand which is wider, 5th gen or 6th gen. And it is why I pointed you to google as I know several of the threads have those specifics.

I discovered that the rear pivot bushing can have different shapes for certain years. Basically, if you order bushing for the year car that you have, you'll be fine. The castings are the same dimentions, but the bushings are not.

According to Hardrace part numbers the front I-Beam portion is different between the EG/DC and EK.

I-Beam? What are you referring to? There are 3 main attachment points for the Front LCA. Rear Pivot, Front Pivot, and Shock Mount. Then there is the option of the sway bar attachment.

If you look at the LCA itself, it's an I-beam by design.

If you were to cross section the LCA you would see the letter I.

Oh I see. So you're referring to the front most portion of the two piece LCA.

Are you saying they won't bolt up?

Yes the front half that goes left to right and the strut bolts into. Not the triangle portion.

I checked out Hardrace again, their Front Compliance Bushings are different between the 92-95 and 96-00. So I doubting that they would work.
