Straight pipe horror stories
I'm planning to go full straight pipe today. Anybody that has been pulled over for this? How much was the ticket?

dont know how much.. but i know its a serious ticket specially in cali w/ all the smog stuff they got going on.. around here in NOVA a cop wont look under your hood or car unless you have really fucked up and he is looking to get you...

um it stinks and it wil be really loud if you have a DOHC and a stright threw muffler. a better idea is to hollow out an old cat, that way the cops still see a cat down there and cant really do much on the spot

yes they check under the car. if you are gonna get a test pipe, at least weld on your OEM heat shields so it looks like you have a cat.
BTW it stinks like crazy. I almost died from that ****.

yeah they do check under your car to see if you have a cat, here in cali. Plus they have been starting to do smog check points...sux huh...

I believe I read somewhere that the fine in CA is around $1500 for not having a catalytic converter. Don't give the cops a reason to pull you over and you should be fine.

lot of guys run no cats here it smells bad really bad. some smell like skunk and others smell like rotten eggs its horrible.

I have a test pipe because I swapped in a VX with a close coupled cat. I also live in KY with no emissions or testing so no worries.

well i've had mine for quite a while now... and its all good so far..'knock on wood'
but with 92-95 si muffler... only gets loud on high rpm's....(rattles)
