How difficult will it be to put a heatshild on a test pipe.
I searched and found how to make your own. I have a test pipe that looks similar to the one below.
How hard would it be to put a heat shield around this to make it appear to be a real cat. I purchased the car with it already installed and I'm affraid of being checked by California Highway Patrol.

Catalytic converters have heatshields around them already. Find a toasted one, cut the crap off the outside of it, and weld it to the pipe.
there is a guy on here that made a real nice one. Look under serch for cats or test pipes. he even shows how he made it. looks good to.
Anyone in Southern Cali have a blown Cat that I can have? If anyone else have one how much will it be to ship it to 90810.
I wonder if a muffler shop will just give me a blown cat for free.

Thats the tread where the guy made the fake cat and there is a pic of the testpipe that vision makes. It has prvisions for the heatsheald to be bolted onto it.
