stock vtec D16Y8 header/exhaust upgrades?
ive got a 97 EX 1.6L W/ VTEC. D16Y8. along with a 'no name' CAI that i got from autozone.
i wanna know what i should do to upgrade the exhaust. cat-back? header? you tell me. BTW i dont know a whole lot about exhaust and stuff but i know the basics.
and im also on a budget. maybe willing to spend around 300?
what brand should i look for to get? ive heard that megan has some good stuff for not a bad price. HELP ME OUT.

Don't waste your money. The only thing you'll get out of a new header/exhaust and $300 is a car that sounds like ****.
Piece together a turbo kit.

haha
i think i got my magnaflow high flow cat and muffler (2.5" piping) for $350, not really super HP gains or anything but much better throttle response. you can also pick up some megan-racing headers for 150 i think, i have and enjoy those as well.

300 dollars?
The only way that 300 will make a noticable difference is nitrous oxide
Buy a cheap nitrous kit with a small shot...

The only way that you are going to make any real power on a single cam is go with forced induction(turbo or nitrous)...If its your daily driver then I would sugguest get'n yourself a wet nitrous kit with a small shot(35-50). You can pick a kit up for around $500 or so.
