header with stock exhaust
has anyone put on a dc header or any aftermarket header but kept the stock exhaust?? I have a 97 ex and don't want the raspy whiney sound of a lot of the aftermarker exhausts. Or does anyone know of an exhaust that isnt that loud and obnoxious? Any help would be great.

If you are looking for an exhaust that is not loud and obnoxious I would try the RS-R EXMAG. http://www.rs-r.com/products/exhaust/exmag.php

The header will not give you a big gain in hp but it will help smooth out the RPM band a little more. and as far as a quiet exahaust? i would look somewhere along the lines of Thermal research.. No raspy tone. Nice looks and excelant quality for the money. We have a 05 Scion xB running a catback thermal exhaust. this is not only our part and delivery vehicle but, its aslo used for running customers back and forth as well... we have recieved many compliments on the tuner look and sound and not obnoxious noise. Its functional and cost effective.

Re: header with stock exhaust (Forward Motion)
You can try a ITR axle back. Those are pretty quiet and are 2.25". Im actually looking for one if anyone has one
A side note about the rsr ex mag. It is also has a chambered muffler like the oem ITR exhuast and will not gain much, if any power over the ITR one and the ITR one is cheaper
