Default stock retainers on new valve springs?

can you use stock retainers (d16y8) with say, ZEX titanium valve springs? I'm not too sure if i want to pony up the $150 for a set of retainers.

yes- im currently running skunk2 valvesprings in my d16z6 and its fine- the valvesprings are the main thing when increasing revs- i mean if u are gonna go all out and take your car to like over 8 grand id get ti retainers, but if u keep stock or go a few hundered rpm over stock rev limit(via ecu tuning) stock retainers should work fine
