Default Stock CX flywheel = lightweight

Just figured i'd drop some info 4 u guys,
just pulled off my clutch, with my stock 92 cx flywheel.
and I threw it on the scale.

came out to 15.5-16lbs (depending on where the scale was placed, haha).

Just something to think about to anyone swapping out their cx for another sohc.

I ****** knew it. My 94CX is so much easier to drive than my 89 CRX Si. I hate how long it take my CRX's revs to drop between shifts. Does anyboy know if a 92-95 CX flywheel/clutch combo will fit on a CRX?

no the opposite,
revs drop faster, and raise faster with a lighter flywheel,

and visa versa with a heavier one.

so you get more acceleration with a lighter flywheel,
but off throttle, revs will drop faster.

hmmm... thats weird. Last year i pulled my Flywheel off of a JDM sohc zc motor and took it to the machine shop and had it shaved. My machinist told me it weighed in at 16lbs and shaved 4lbs off, ended up with 12lbs.

yeh, for the most part they make heavier ones for engines with more power and lighter for weaker.
the cx motor is 70hp..

I think its the whole reliability thing(of course honda keeps a buffer zone the size of a football field)

except the typeR I have heard that one is pretty light

last time i weigh a gsr flywheel, it was around 18-20lbs...type r is in the mid teens so i would say 14-16lbs and then you have your aftermarkets at 8lbs and 12lbs that i have seen

so i did a parts search.

CX
22100-P05-000 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64
22100-PLD-005 FLYWHEEL COMP $228.68 $53.64

VX
22100-P05-000 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64
22100-PLD-005 FLYWHEEL COMP $228.68 $53.64

so i assume CX and VX are the same....

HF
22100-P05-000 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64
22100-PLD-005 FLYWHEEL COMP $228.68 $53.64

hmmm..... i didnt know HF was lighter... i thought i weighed it as the same as Si... i must have been wrong.

CRX Si 1990
22100-PM7-L00 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64

i thought this was interesting...

EG Civic EX/Si d16z6 1992
22100-PM7-L00 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64

EG Civic EX/Si d16z6 1994!
22100-PEL-005 FLYWHEEL $228.68 $53.64

looks like there was a mmc (mid model year change) in flywheels after 92.
