state ref MIL failed (searched)
i have a '00 si with stock EVERYTHING at the moment. motor i had in there before(b18a/vtec head) had a check engine light for knock sensor i think it was...but with original motor n ecu back in, everythings perfect, but i failed MIL/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, it comes on and goes off like normal. after he hooked up a obd2 scanner i guess he found that i had a MIL cleared...which was probably the SRS light i cleared couple days before? so i guess its still in the "memory" or whatnot, how do i prevent failure for this part again? reset ecu? cuz wouldnt he still be able to see it because its still in the "memory". but like everythings fine, srs/check engine etc. lights all come on and off when they're suppose to. TIA

SRS light shouldn't fail you anyway...I had emmisions done a couple months ago and my SRS light was on. Guy hooked up the OBD2 scanner and 30 seconds later I'm driving away and don't have to see the place for another 2 years.
You need to reset the ECU but you also need to go out and drive it around to let the ECU monitors run and complete. The scanner at the station can tell if you just reset the ECU a couple of seconds before you got there in order to get rid of the CEL.
