Startup problem with 95 Civic DX
Hello folks, I signed up to this forum in hopes I could help my brother out, he isnt so savvy with computers and all.
He has a 1995 CIvic DX coupe with the stock engine/bolt ons. It ran fine until this morning when he tried to start it. You would have to crank much longer than usual and when it fires it goes into cold start mode for abour 4 seconds then sputters and dies.
We swapped his "Spoon" *cough EBAY* ECU back to stock and nothing improved. I checked the engine bay over, no loose wires/plugs, no fuses blown.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
I am a Nissan/Datsun guy myself and I have no idea where to start looking.

Re: Startup problem with 95 Civic DX (hatchi)
The plugs and wires were on the car when purchased. WHen I pulled the cap off to check coil voltage it was pretty grungy. I sanded the rust off and now it wount run barely at all. I give it throttle and it spits and pops and wont rev up.
Almost sounds like a fuel problem now...

Well, I chased the fuel problem. I removed the regulator from the rail and turned the key to get the pump to run a little, no fuel came out after repeated key turns, I could hear the pump running over and over, but nuthin came out!
Clogged filter? Something else?

Anyone? Fuel isnt the issue, everything is working fine.
Could a bad MAp sensor cause hard starts, when it does start, the second you blip the gas it dies?
This happened from one day to the next.
Please guys, I need help, my brother is stranded wiothout his Civic.
