squeeking at idle...
my g/f's 95 civic ex squeeks at idle. sounds like it is a belt but its not. i think, and have been told by a few others that it is the ac compressor clutch or something like that? what do i need to do to fix it? it is such a nice car... mint condition.. sucks that she has to sit at red lights with it sounding like it is a peice. if anybody know please fill me in on how to fix this problem.

Re: squeeking at idle... (SOHC Beast)
1.If you dont mind not having AC anymore just remove the belt.
2.If you want AC you will have to take it to a shop so they can suck the freon out of it.
3.After they suck the freon out they will probably look for metal fragments in your AC system and if their is that sucks because that means your whole compressor is busted up inside and will need to be replaced and this is expensive!
4.If their is no metal fragments then they will just replace the necessary parts needed on the compressor and adjust the gap on the compressor clutch then away you go!
GOOD LUCK

and by the way, it squeeked a little bit last summer as well, but the ac still worked great... it was still old as can be..
