speedo bouncing

speedo bouncing
today while driving, i noticed that my speedometer needle would bounce and go crazy then return to normal...what could be the cause of the problem...could it be the VSS has gone bad...or just a loose cabel, could i do this in my driveway

Yeah, you can do it in your driveway. The VSS is just one bolt and it comes out with a lil wiggling.
It's probably either the cluster of the VSS, though yeah, a bad contact can do it as well. Spray some contact cleaner on the plug ends and work it in there good.

i had the same problem if cleaner dont fix it check the plug real closely and make sure that all the prongs are still in there mine the middle one broke out and had never been taken off before.. i guess water sat in there and corroded it
