Speedo acting weird (96 civic coupe 1.6I)
Hey guys im new on the forum. i shall introduce myself first
with a pic of my car
But im having some trouble with my car.
im from holland so we use km/h but i will translate to mp/h
my speedo is working fine most of the time. but occasionally
it doesn't work and that means my miles dont count up either!
most of the time above 50 mph it suddenly jumps and start working.
if i drive at lower speeds after that it still keeps working
i was thinking what it might be. can't be in the transmission because it does work. already checked the speedo sensor plug. and it's snug.
hope you guys can help me here!

You could take out the Speedo sensor and gently mess around with the gear that sits in the transmission. You might not even be able to easily tell its broken, and it could still have a problem.
but if its broken I think it'l be easy to tell

Yes it shift's very smooth. im going to clean te connector and if that doesnt work i might check the speedo gear.

Click the Codes link in my signature.
If code 17 is not thrown after resetting the ECU, then the cluster or speedometer/odometer unit may be bad.
