errr with $2500 including the motor... thats leaves you with $2050 for mods after a d15B... vitara pistons and TT rods... a snail from http://www.blaastperformance.com..dsm 450's a front mount. and crome... youll make 300 whp easily and have money left over for gas and insurance.... turbo D all the way

No.
You can build a home made kit for 1/2 that. AND be pushing ~220whp, otherwise you start to negotiate the reliability. Then build it up a little with the rest of the money, do all the work yourself. You have a nice 300 whp sohc.

i made a similar decision recently when I was deciding h2d or turbo D.
check out my d15z1 build thread floating around in this forum. Looks like the jdm d15b is an excellent engine for vitaras + tt rods + 350whp

Wow that's crazy how much hp a turbo D series can make. I also would like the feeling of having a sohc motor hammering on dohc motors. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by claytonsmith »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">errr with $2500 including the motor... thats leaves you with $2050 for mods after a d15B... vitara pistons and TT rods... a snail from http://www.blaastperformance.com..dsm 450's a front mount. and crome... youll make 300 whp easily and have money left over for gas and insurance.... turbo D all the way</TD></TR></TABLE> might just be my plan of attack thanks.

Re: (nighthawkgsr)
how much power are you trying to make with the D?
if you're trying to shoot for 200-ish then a homemade turbo will be sufficient on stock internals and save you some money. Are you planning to Dump all the money into the car? I WOULD!! With that much money you can do quite a few things.
