did you change your mind? From the original post it sounded like you were going to use a 1.5 liter block with a z6 head. Anyways what you are planning on doing now does sound kind of pointless. The only benefit would maybe be the slightly more agressive cam, but you could always just throw a zex cam or something in your z6.

just build the z6. the only good thing about the JDM d15 vtec is the cam, which is comparable to a zex 59100. go w/ the zex 59300 or a crower cam and get some aftermarket valve springs/tit. retainers, and put new rods and while you're at it pistons in the bottom end...

The reason why I'm doing this is because my head is messed up on the z6. After about 6k, it makes no power. I think it's gotta be something with the valves floating? I dont know really, but I want a head with less miles. My friends got this d15 head with 58k miles, and he owes me $100 about, so that's why I'm gonna go with it. And, it should be a little better than the stock z6 head if I found one for 58k miles. I plan on doing this head, cam, and cam gear.

well im getting the head off of my friend who owes me money. the head is in better shape than mine and its got 58k miles while mines got 158k miles and doesnt make power past 6k. thats mainly why i want to throw this one on.

Re: (e1even)
so how did you start out talking about swapping out your block for a 1.5l and doing a mini-me, but now all of a sudden you want to keep the block and put on a d15 vtec head? Make up your mind.

Yea, its a d15 vtec head.

Well if you would follow the topic, you would have read about how I changed my mind and am not going to switch the block. ****'s not set in stone man.

Re: (e1even)
sorry man you were confusing the **** out of me
Anyways about the head I would assume that it would work. I have heard that the jdm d15b motor is basically just like a mini me with a d16z6 head and a vx civic block(i think its d15z1 or something..) so I would guess it would work pretty much like just putting a new z6 head on...plus you would have a slightly more agressive cam.

Re: (e1even)
yea i don't think you will really see that much of a power gain unless your other head is just kinda shot. While you have that other head I would go ahead and build it...port it, full valvetrain, maybe mill it, and throw in a crower stage 2 cam or a zex stage 2 cam..maybe even check out the custom exospeed cams. Then throw that bad boy on
