SOHC broke an Axle
now i know most honda's can an will break axles, and i have seen enough of them over the time.
but this one was weird.
1. its on a my car
2. its on an SOHC(yeah its built, but its not boosting yet)
so you dont really want to know how i did this, cause im a retard and shouldnt have done it in the first place. 7000rpm, drop clutch, snap, no go..so heres the aftermath. and i dont want to hear, "well thats what you get"
hmm isnt there supposed to be more splines?
ohh wait there they are!
ok to finish it up, i yanked the tranny pulled it apart, had to get the leftover axle bit out and clean all the little gritty peices out of the tranny.
the diff its self is alittle worse for wear, the splines are fine. but the shims for the spider gears on that side were alittle beated...so had to clean them up.....
threw in a new axle and drove to work...seems to be fine so far...but i need a new diff.....LSD time!

Re: SOHC broke an Axle (pornstarSR)
I would highly suggest obtaining aftermarket axles from TCI. I have used it on my race car all season, and it has NEVER failed me, even with constant abuse.
They now have it for SOHC set ups from 1988 and up.
