Mugen Twin Loop w/Hi Flow Cat?
Whats up guys..
I've just bought a twin loop replica on ebay as well as a hi flow cat..
What kind of sound am I looking at with this combo?
right now I have the hiflow cat installed with a greddy evo muffler w/ 2 1/4" piping.. it sounds VERY bad.. extremely buzzy.. I don't like it at all..it sounded 100x better with the oem cat.. only reason I replaced it is b/c it was all corroded and rusted out..
so does anyone have experience with the twin loop and hiflow combo (sound & performance)? i want to make my car sound as OEM as possible with as much air flow as possible..
thx

What kind of cat... do you have any fuel mods?
It sounds like either it's mis-installed or the catalyst material has broken inside it....
Unless you just mean it's raspy... it should be "buzzy"
Is the mufller on there a canister style?
If so that's probobly the problem..
If you want as close to stock as possible then I'd go with a used teg muffler or s2000 etc... any stock mufller larger than yours... or any oval style muffler with a resonator behind the cat...

to tell you the truth..it's not even really a hi flow cat.. it's more of a resonator.. :\
no fuel mods..but running crazy rich.2ndgen jdm b16a
and yes it's verrrry buzzy with my greddy evo..
as for the oem muffler option.. i cant find ANYONE in my area that wants to sell me their muffler!..i've been looking for s2000, rsx s, itr type mufflers and no luck... the best i could find was a crazy deal on a twinloop replica..
thx for the reply

A. Yeah it's gunna be raspy and crappy w/o a cat... get a cat. problem solved.
B. Fix your fuel problems before you get a cat other wise it'll go bad.
C. search ebay for "oem honda" or stock honda etc...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...91199
try places like this...
http://www.honda-auto-parts-wholesale.com
or just ask a local shop to order you the muffler section from whatever car you want... it'll be under 100 bucks.. and that's probobly even high.
