Quick axle ?

Quick axle ?
So I put in a new clutch and everything went smooth. The only worry I have is that when I put the axles back into the tranny I couldnt get the passenger side axle flush with the tranny. There is about a 1/4 in. space. No tranny fluid is leaking out but im just worried that it may damaged the splines on the axle or worse damage the tranny. Car drives ok but I still worry about that axle. So what do yall think. Has anyone else had this problem?
