Snow messed up my hatch. Help me out to identify the part.
1992 VX
This morning on the way to work, the conditions were pretty bad.
While driving, I kept hearing something dragging but it sounded like ice so I kept on driving.
Turns out, the black plastic cover underneath the engine bay is all messed up. (driver'side) I guess the purpose of it, is to protect the engine from mud and water....
Anyone know the proper name of the part so I can look it up? Also, can I drive my car in the snow without it?
thanks,
Nikos

I would say yeah, snow doesn't do anything and that plastic thing is mostly there for cosmetic purpose. Mine is also all ripped off cause of snow as well but it doesn't make any difference.

It happened to me also while I was living up north. I just ripped off the part by the under the front bumper and by the right tire. A little later on, same thing happened to the other side, so I just took it off. I'm sure you could get it replaced if you choose, or you could just go to your local junkyard and get it for free.

well when I was driving my del sol last week going a little fast on the highway, I went through a ditch, and I guess since my car is lowered 2.25 in the front it hit the inside plastic of the fender, tore it all up! I don't know what it's called, but if you go the Honda dealer and ask them, they can print you out pictures, to make sure to order the right part.
