heres the deal, my engine is running great, not overheating or anything, but every now and then when I drive my car not even very hard, but a little harder than normal, smoke comes out from behind my steering wheel. When it does this i immediately stop and open the engine bay to see if smokes coming out. It isnt. The engine is fine and everything looks aok, the smoke on appears inside the car alongside a burning rubber smell. I got a long 250 mile trip to make in 2 days, I cant be dealin with this stress right now, can someone please tell me what the problem is ASAP?

P.S. I just replaced my altenator and power steering belt, they look like they are running ok, but the altenator belt needs a bit tightening and squeals a bit in the cold, can this be the source of the problem? I wouldnt think so.

I would say an exhaust leak and you have plugs in your fire wall you're probably missing. check to see if that's your problem. hope it helps.
