Default I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP... engine blown? IDK, I NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE!!!

alright, I'm driving onthehighwayheading to Boston, inthe fast lane going 75/80mph then all the sudden my tach goes crazy and I have no power, I putont he hazards and go into the breakdown lane. Checked for all leaking substances, int he engien bay and under the car, couldn't see a thing. BUT the car did make a smell when it died, checked all the plugs and valves, fromw hat I could see they look fine. Getthe car towed tom,y house and notice the 80amp battery fuse is blown. (I blew one of these 2-3 weeks ago) So my mothers off running errands and is going to pick me one up, much thanks to her. The only thing weirdignme out is that when it did die it turned over, and with a blow batt fuse it won't turn over, which it doesn't now. I know I need a new alternator belt whichis slipping a lil on starting the car up, btu idk Ineed help on this. The motor feels super hot, I'm clueless as tow hats wrong seriously, I need you guys help!

(could smell have been because car died and it was in 5th? I checked my oil just now and its real low and blackish, I haven't checked it in 2 weeks, dumb *** me, if it wa sbecause the oil was minimal could my insided be donefor?) PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP!

UPDATE: I installed a new battery (80amp) fuse, I have power again, but the car won't start. it turns over but nothing? Help>?!!!

PLEASE, I'd GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS!!!

Your alternator is probably deffective.

The 80A fuse is the link between the battery and the alternator

How many miles on the motor?
I suspect a timing belt.

ALL MY REPLIES IN THIS POSTW ILL GO RIGHT HERE, SEEING AS I HAVE A TRIAL MEMBERSHIP FOR NOW! THANKS!

...accord - hazards worked, and yesterday I went over most ofmy grounds and replaced corroded/rusted washers with new ones...

v-tec and birds - I checked the alternator belt, and it wasn't snapped... how do I check the alternator? Idon't have an ohmmeter or whatever isneeded, sto see if its spiking, and idk... this problem is a bitch to pinpoint....

Heres an interesting question did the hazard lights work when you hit the
switch as you were coasting to the shoulder of the highway?

Double check your grounds and make sure they are all secure and tight.

well if your blowing a 80amp fuse and it happened before... you might have a short to ground.... because that just doesnt happen for the hell of it... that or your alternator is hitting a voltage spike... !!

i agree with ^^ the same thing happened to me. My alternator was spiking very high for some reason. So before you do anything rash and expensive start with the basics like alternator.

anyone else care to share soem insight onthis problem or should I ultimately breakdownand bring it to a shop?

UPDATE
while changing alt belt today I noticved smoke coiming from above alternator, turns out the plug intothe alternator was grounding out on another wire and melting the rummber boot connected to it, so I seperated the two and whatnot, I'm hoping this is what'd be blowing the 80 amp fuse and not letting it start.... althrough its gettign new ICM and ignition coil...
